WOLFENSTEIN (2009)

     After '' Return to the castle of Wolfenstein '', in 2009, Activion published '' Wolfenstein 2 '', another first person shooter and amazing game. The game is available only for the next platforms : PC ( Windows ) , PS3 and  XBox 360.

System requirements :

• Internet Broadband connection for multiplayer

     I played it using the following system : Windows XP Service Pack 3, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+, 2.61 Ghz, 2.00 GB of RAM.

STORY

        Well, the story takes part most of the game in a town named Isenstadt, during World War II. A town which Nazis have taken full control of, where strange things happen as the game progresses. The main principal character, B.J. Blazkowicz, which you play as, is sent to Isenstadt where the Nazis dig for some kind of magical crystals, led by a general named Victor Zetta. Unfortunately his cover is blown by an unknown informant. Then he meets up with agents from the Kreisau Circle, a resistance group dedicated to freeing Isenstadt from those bad guys.

ENEMIES

-  Veil Heavy Trooper -

As you can see in the image, on his shoulders are attached cylinders. He also has a strong armor, a powerful gun ( Particle Canon ) and when he moves he makes a stomping noise. Just shoot the cylinders, they will explode and he will die.

- Flame Trooper - 

                                                   - Scribe -

 The Scribe is a powerful enemy too, let's say. He can fire spherical energy blasts, they can generate protective barriers for the Nazis soldiers using the Veil power Shield, and they can move around instanteously using the Veil power Mire. To kill him quickly, use the Veil power.

                                              - Veil Assasin -

Veil Assasins are the fastest melee enemies in this game and they also can become invisible. 

- Elite Guard - 

The blonde guards wield retractable blades attached to their wrists as well as a wrist mounted projectile. They are fast too, but easy to kill.

POWERS

As powers, you have  '' The Veil '' which is an altered version of the normal world, with some characteristic features of the Black Sun Dimension, most notably the swirling trails of debris being sucked into the sky by the Black Sun itself. Pools of Black Sun Energy (also called Veil Energy) are visible in this dimension, as are creatures called Geists which harvest this energy.

The power of the Veil is controlled using special Nachtsonne Crystals which only grow in the area around Isenstadt. Under General Viktor Zetta, the Nazis have instigated an extensive research and development project to find uses for the energy of the Veil, with human research carried out at the local hospital, a massive operation to artificially produce Nachtsonne Crystals in a facility located in a cavern under an occupied farm, and a giant research and production facility occupying an old cannery within the city. The latter facility produces barrels containing a glowing blue substance referred to as Veil Condensate, which is used to generate shields and power weapon systems such as the Leichenfaust 44, the Particle cannon and the Keiler tank.

The Nazis also have the ability to create Veil Doors, surfaces made of a special form of matter which is solid in the normal world but can be passed through in the Veil. These doors are distinguished by a black sun symbol, and usually provide access to important or hidden areas. Later in the game they start deploying Veil Inhibitors, portable field generators fitted with a mushroom-like emitter which nullify the power of the Thule Medallion within a fixed radius. These are usually used to protect critical locations by preventing travel through Veil Doors.

However, after B.J destroyed the Thule device in the Black Sun dimension, the Veil is no longer accessible.

The Thule Medallion is a device created by the Thule race to harness the power of the Veil. Powered by Nachtsonne Crystals, it can generate powerful effects by warping space, enabling the bearer to move faster, see normally invisible things and even pass through apparently solid matter. What I think about this game

•        At first, I liked almost everything. But, when I wanted to save the game, I had the surprise that I can't ! The game saves by it self, only on CHECKPOINTS. The game can be played on 4 different difficulty levels :    

                                                   - '' Daddy, can I play? '' - this is the easiest

                                                   - '' Don't hurt me ''

                                                   - '' Bring them on ! '' - normal

                                                   - '' I am death incarnate ! '' -  the hardest one

• I like the fact that you have a Veil, which is a barrier between the Black Sun Dimension and the "normal" dimension inhabited by humans. 
• The Veil can generate powerful effects by warping space, enabling the bearer to move faster, see normally invisible things and even pass through apparently solid matter. ( Wikipedia ) 
• Very good graphics
• You have the option to upgrade your weapons and the Veil stone ( to do this, you need to collect money which can be found in hidden places, so be patient and look for them during the game )
• After you finish the game, you can use Cheat Codes
• Regenerating health
• The story is not so special, but its easy to follow along with until the end

Resistance 2

         Resistance 2 it's a first person shooter, developed by Insomniac Games. The game was released in 2008. The protagonist of the game is  Nathan Hale, the same as in Resistance: Fall of Men ( the first game ), who travels again in America to kill the Chimera.

Short story 

         In the first game, when action took place in 1951, Nathan Hale destroyed The Chimera Tower in London and some soldiers in a VTOL, from Special Research Projects Administration, saved him. As they were going back to the SRPA in Iceland, they saw that the country is attacted by the Chimera. A Chimera monster, the Goliath, shoots down the VTOL and the only survivors are Nathan Hale and Major Richard Blake. Then, on May 15, 1953 the Chimera launched a full-scale invasion in United States , attacking from everywhere, trying to overwhelm their defenses. USA declares war against the Chimera. As the game goes on, Nathan Hale saves Malikov, they escape form the Station Genesis, and they go with The Echo Squad in Chicago to deactivate one of several Chimera Tower. At the end of the game, Nathan kills Daedalus and then he touches him . Suddenly he is overwhelmed by psychokinetic abilities. The bomb is activated and Hale escapes with Capelli. The ship crashes during the explosion. Capelli wakes up and he sees that Nathan is missing. He goes outside and he sees Nathan looking at the sky and saying: '' Can you hear them? They are calling to us...It's beautiful ! This is just the beginning'' . Capelli knows that Nathan was too infected by the virus, and he kills him.

In Resistance 2 you don't have storage fot all the weapons you find, so you can keep only 3 . There are new weapons like Marksman, Bullseye 2 , MP-47 Pulse Cannon, Splicer.Wraith Mini Gun, Bellock , and many others.

In my opinion, Splicer, Marksman, and, especially the Wraith Mini Gun, a weapon with scout and 300 bullets, are very powerful and very efficient. Here are some pictures.

What I think about the game

      I actually like this game. A lot, even though a lot of people said that they are not so impressed and they don't like it so much. It's a great game, with a lot of action, new monsters, new weapons and locations. It catches up your attention. Graphics are good, you can play it campaign, cooperative or competitive mode.

Dead Space 3

           Dead Space 3 is a horror game available on PC, Xbox and PS3, realesed on 2013 by EA Games. 
     The game starts on a frozen planet where Sovereign Colonies Armed Forces, Privates Tim Kaufman and Sam Ackerman are attempting to get back a mysterious object called  '' the Codex '' for Dr. Earl Serrano. After fleeing Necromorphs and finding the codex, Ackerman dies in an avalanche, forcing Kaufman to report alone to his commanding officer, General Mahad. Mahad, being the only other survivor, executes Kaufman, purges the Codex data, and commits suicide. After 200 years later, the protagonist  Isaac Clarke has a relationship with Ellie Langford , but they soon broke up , but that's not important I guess. Then, Isaac is taken from his apartment by Captain Robert Norton and Sergeant John Carver explain they are the last battalion of EarthGov, and they require Isaac's help to find Ellie and her missing team.As the game follows, they try to destroy too, the threat, Necromorph. 

Characters

Isaac Clarke - The protagonist and the main character of this game. He escaped with Ellie after destroying the Site 12 Marker. After 3 years from the incident, they start having a relationship , but they soon broke up , because Isaac refused to help Ellie to kill the Markers.

John Carvor - He is the secondary main character.He was infested by Necromorphs after Jacob Danik releases  the Marker  on his home planet, Uxor. He lost his wife and his son in the incident.

Ellie Langford - She is one of the survivors of the Titan Station incident, which rescued Isaac. She lost her eye because Nolan Stross removed it, but soon her eye it's replaced. After her relationship with Isaac, and leaving on the planet Uxor, she starts having a relationship with Captain Robert Norton.

Monsters

Well, they are ugly. Very, very, ugly...and scary. They die hard, even on the easy mode. I hate that sometimes there are lots of them, and you can't even kill those horrible monsters ,because, even though you try to run , to find a better place so you can shoot them or reload your weapon, they are running much faster than you and, finally, they will kill you. You can use Stasis ( the suit has a power which helps you freeze creatures for a short time, so you can shoot them ) . After you kill those monsters, be sure to hit them because you will find ammo in their bodies. What they do with it ? They eat it ?! This is a little bit strange...

Graphics

The graphics are good, and if you play it on a big TV screen you will have a much greater experience. 

Of course there are differences between Xbox 360, PC and PS3. I made some research, and on Xbox graphics are bad. I played the game on PS3 and I have nothing bad to say . Here are some pictures. 

What I think about this game ? 

The story it's not so ''sparkly '' , let's say. I'm not so impressed. But not everyone thinks the same, so if you didn't play the game before, and you like those horror\thriller action video games, buy it. Maybe you will like it.

Uncharted 3 : Drake's Deception - YES ! Another great game

       Well this is the type of game I absolutely love! Although it's been 2 years since the game has been launched,  I buyed it like 3 days ago.

First impressions

 '' Yes, this game is gonna be awesome ! '' And so it was. I like how the game begins with the quote ''All men dream - but not equally. Those who dream by night, in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity... But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible. This I did." and , then, we can see  the story starts in a pub , with the main principal characters, Nathan and Sully, which accuse Talbot ( the bad guy) of offering them counterfeit banknotes. And a fight starts . After they stop, Nate and Sully go in a alleyway where they are surrounded by Cutter, Katherine appears and steals Nathan's ring. Cutter '' shoots '' him and Sully.
    The story flashes back 20 years before, where you will see how the principal characters met.

Locations :

There are beautiful locations in this game like Peru, Syria and Yemen.

      This game is really catchy and it's a lot more different that the games I have played until now. In some locations there are '' secret chambers '', let's say. Chambers where you will find puzzles. Some are difficult to resolve and it will take you some time to think, some are not. After a few minutes if you can't make them, the game will help you . 

     I have nothing bad to say about it.

I think that the game finished too fast...maybe because I liked it so much and I wanted to play and explore more. Now waiting for Uncharted 4 to be launched :)

Gran Turismo 6

                           

    So today I am going to talk about Gran Turismo 6. As you may all know, this is available only on PS3 and it's the most popular driving simulator. The game loads much faster than the previous, GT 5 , you can play it in co-op mode, landscapes are amazing - very detailed, and of course, DLC's are available. There are 1200 cars in the game which can be personalized , new tracks also. A Lunar Exploration has been added, but it's available after you finish the National A License Tests.There will be no lines to follow on the moon to finish the races, so you have to guide the rover using the GPS which is displayed on the screen. Be careful though, try to avoid the rocks. You don't need to go very fast because the rover will tumble.



     If you connect your PS3 to the internet, you can see that when you start the game, a message will appear on the screen, saying that new updates are available. I updated the game and it took almost 2 hours. After the instalation is over, the game will start, and the loading movie screen is different . Then, in the Menu you can see that now are available Red Bull challenges, new cars added and many others. I am a little disapointed because I thought there will be more things added.

Well, it's a good game, I recommend it. I know that it's been a year since the game has been launched, but I'm sure that not everyone played it. Go ahead and buy it if you like car games, you will not regret it !
